WHAT IS THE PTA, EXACTLY?

First, we have SO MUCH FUN! But we also raise funds to support programs and events at Lake including:

  • Student Enrichment Programs and Events
  • Teacher and Staff Support
  • Classroom Supplies
  • School Improvement
  • Scholarships

What We Do

PTA Association vs. PTA Board Meetings

The PTA Association is comprised of ALL parents and teachers who join the PTA with their $8 donation. This membership comes with many benefits, including a vote and a say in how our money is spent. The budget is posted on our website.

The PTA Board is a group of parent volunteers elected by the members of the association. The board also includes parents who volunteer to run specific clubs or programs at the school.

PTA General meetings are held four times throughout the year, and always during school events. PTA Board meetings are typically held the 3rd Monday of the month, currently via Zoom. 

 

HOW DO I RECEIVE INFORMATION ABOUT SCHOOL ACTIVITIES?

1. Peachjar- Make sure you sign-up to receive information from the school at www.peachjar.com. The school very rarely sends home printed flyers, this system replaces printed fliers

2. PTA Website- All PTA programs and events are posted here on  lakedolphins.org

3. Social Media- Make sure you follow Lake Elementary PTA on social media. Instagram is @lakedolphinspta and Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/LakeElementaryPTA

4. Weekly "Smore" Newsletter- Lake Elementary sends a weekly email via a service called "Smore." Make sure you are receiving these as they have ALL the information you will need from the school AND the PTA!

5. Your Child's Teacher & Room Representative- Your child's teacher will collect your email address either on the first day of school or at Back To School Night. Kindergarten often has special events specific to them, so you'll want to make sure your child's teacher and your room representative have a way to contact you.

WHAT IS DOLPHIN WEAR?

A large percentage of Lake students wear their Dolphin T-shirts on Mondays! It is really fun to see the sea of blue at school on Mondays. Each class competes every week to see which class in each grade has the highest participation in spirit wear. Everyone has a lot of fun with this!  Blue or white shirts also count!
